Well, up early this morning to get over to the rally site. Unfortunately I was also up early becasue I wasn’t feeling 5 star either. Think the heat got to me yesterday, and continues today. Fortunately it will break tomorrow.
I pulled out a few minutes ahead of Rich & Eleanor and made my way to the Rally site at the fairgrounds. I pulled up into the holding line and the first worker told me she thought no 30 Amp was available, but that wasn’t official. She wasn’t certain though, and told me to talk to one of the event workers in a certain color shirt (looked maroon to me, but she said a different color).
A few minutes later an event worker made their way to me. She saw I don’t have my WBCCI number out, so she wanted the number. Easy enough, 2551. :) She then informed me she was fairly certain there were no available 30 Amp sites, especially since I hadn’t registered yet, and that I needed to pull out of line to fill out the form for her now, even though registration wasn’t until 1:00. I’d have to wait until 3 or 3:30 to be sure. That wasn’t going to work for me. It’s already hot. Since there was no suggestion about what I needed to do next, I decided to turn the trailer around out of the fairgrounds and head back.
So, I made my way out of the fairgrounds and gave Rich & Eleanor a buzz. I let them know what I was told, and that I was on my way back to the park I’d been staying in. I need AC today.
Funny thing, they called shortly afterward, right as I pulled into the park to say another worker said there were indeed 30 Amp sites still available. But I’d already pulled back into this park.
Given how I’m feeling this morning I decided against another round trip. Maybe later I’ll go back for registration. First I gotta get my stomach to settle down, then I’ll see. Some mornings it complains a little, others it complains a lot. Today is the a lot category. We’ll see if I can get myself in tomorrow. ![]()
