Yesterday was a HOT one! Sure, it only broke 90 here in Prescott. Sure, Rich L called from Vegas where it was well over 100 degrees….. but it was still toasty as far as I was concerned.

Andy & Brooke popped over at 10 on the nose.
Once again we headed into the Dells to play on the Perfect Idiot, and then try a few other climbs. Fun as usual.
As the morning wore on though the heat really increased. By the time we walked away from the Perfect Idiot (no I don’t have it perfected) it was getting into the scorching zone.
Of course, the hat was on. SPF 55 was on as well. We all had Camel Back water bags too. But at a certain point, too much sun and heat can really drain you.
After setting up our second climbing spot I was feeling spent. Andy rappelled down, and I walked around instead. I’d already done a rappel off of the perfect idiot, and was feeling to hot and tired to call it fun near the lake.
Before the climbing started again a shady spot was found to have some more liquid, and for a few snacks. Nice shade.
After sitting a while Andy asked if everyone else was feeling roasted and tired, and if climbing would be cut short soon….. Hooray, it wasn’t just me! Just a little too warm at noon on the hot rocks.
So, Andy and Brooke each took one more climb. I took a pass, as I was fairly roasted. Going forward, climbs need to start at 8 just to avoid the extreme heat of mid-day. Decent plan, right?

After all the climbing fun was completed we made our way back to the Airstream. Cold drinks and cold ice pops were waiting for us. Ah, the AC in the Airstream felt wonderful when I first opened the door!
The afternoon was spent hiding out in the Airstream cooling off, doing some reading, and catching up with myself. Also, getting ready for a cook out over at Dina’s.
The cookout was fun. Many people, and of course I don’t remember all of the names once again.
I had to cut it short though. Something in the air making my eyes totally burn once more. Very interesting, there’s something that bugs me right at dusk. Wonder what it is???

Yup, you learn how to do things in the early morning here, cause’ if you wait too long, it’s much too hot. We reach the pinnacle of heat at about 3 during the day…and I am always finding myself looking for any shade (even in the morning) At least it’s a dry heat…har, har.
The bar-b-q was fun, I have no idea who most of those people were either…and I would love to figure out what is making both our eyes burn in the evening, it’s a bit much on the allergy front.
