Before work yesterday I stopped by Barnes & Noble again. It’s almost like I can’t stop myself. Fortunately I keep finding space for one or two extra books. Well, I “sorta” find space.
In the back of my truck I’ve got a rubber maid bin full of books. Back in New England I’ve got tons of books in a trailer. Glad they’re not here right now (although I’ve wanted several of them now and again).
See, here’s the issue. Recently I became interested in really learning Photoshop. I blame Scott Kelby’s good writing. So, I’ve gotten into using Photoshop, I’ve been reading tons, and I’m starting to get it. Mission accomplished…..I’ll get better at using Photoshop, and I’ve got some great references.
With that mission well under way the next curiosity popped up. These HDR images. What are they, how do you do it, can I figure it out too?
The shot to the left is my latest HDR. I’m actually digging it big time! But after tinkering with it for a while yesterday I realized I need to read more about it…….
You know where you can read more about things…..in books. Ugh!
So, 2 books on HDR were purchased yesterday. I want to learn even more. Why? Basically just plain old curiosity.
Soon I’ll be sleeping outside to make room for the books in the Airstream.

It’s an addiction. We are looking for yet another bookcase for our house to contain the multitude that keep coming in. I think in the past month me and DaNece have bought about 15 books….
Thankfully though, we have a bit more room for them than you do. I don’t know how you do it.

I will be watching for changes in the HDR realm here. The foreground details are amazing, did yo notice whether it made any appreciable difference to the nature shot through the window? Again, I will watch and wait for your next installment.

15 books Lois? Try more than 40 here….not counting the ones in my rubber maid container in the truck.
Doug, keep watching, it’ll develop!

I wanted to pop in and say thank you. I’ve been reading you posts for a bit now and I must say, I’m intrigued. I was originally looking for help on RVing and when I typed it into the search bar your blog came up. My husband and I aren’t full time RVers but I’ve been trying to get some questions answered. After reading a few of your posts I figured why not keep going?? My husband and I have been interested in doing some traveling for a while now, and after doing a lot of research I was able to determine that an RV would be the best way for us to travel. My decision was greatly influenced by fellow bloggers such as yourself, and after a considerable amount of time I found this website http://www.bigskyrv.com. They are a dealer here in Montana, and after many communications my husband and I drove down and purchased our first RV. Space is limited as you well know and even though I’m only in the packing and organizing stage, I’m struggling. For me, the interesting thing about your posts is that I too love photography. I’m new to it and I haven’t heard of this HDR, but now thanks to you I’m interested in learning. I just purchased Photoshop CS about a month ago and haven’t had a lot of time to sit down and figure it out but now that I have a good reason, I believe I have been inspired to do some reading. So, thank you for your interesting posts. I look forward to reading more!!
