The other week I went up to Flagstaff. You might remember the trip. A new wide angle lens was purchased that day, and I had fun playing with it. I’m still enjoying the lens.
Sadira suggested we go take a look at a local church, as she liked the architecture. It was pretty unique. Especially the pink. Seriously, the photo you’re seeing is accurate to the reality of this church.
The gargoyles along the roof of the church just didn’t work for me. Pink gargoyles? Yeah, they’re really warding things off. Would you take a pink gargoyle seriously?
No? Me either.
I will say, the church does make for an interesting image. While not my favorite from my visits to Flagstaff it is a memorable shot.
Just thought I’d share, as it’s not something you see every day! ![]()

Well…I was expecting a self portrait with that post title…
hahahah!
Funny! No?
OK…now, gargoyles are building protectors historically, for sure…but the pink ones are a bit…I don’t know…Let’s sit down and have a tea-party with the “bad guys”, and perhaps invite the elves and THEN look out (you know how things get when Elves are involved
)
I DO wonder what the story is behind all the pink though? I mean, it’s not like it matches either the architecture of the building (color wise) or anything downtown either…Perhaps we should have stepped inside and had a quick look-see for some sort of info. You know? I don’t actually think I’ve ever been inside that church…and I love love love Catholic art! Oh well, next time then…
I think they had a sale on paint!
Makes you want to go check it out inside and leave some of your hard earned money
so they can paint it a more churchy color.
