This morning finds me finishing an “E-Vite” mailing to a bunch of folks. Don’t worry, the e-mail was a BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) so if you were on the list, nobody else is getting your e-mail address.
I know I missed many people on the invitation as I don’t have everybody’s e-mail address saved in my address book (I know, really bad). So, I thought I’d put the invitation on the website as well! It is an open invitation you know!
Oh, that also means you can pass it along to anyone you know who would have interest! Feel free, I won’t complain!
Already I’ve been hearing from many folks that the 28th is marked on their calendar. Thanks so much all! Glad the photos have gotten so much interest! I never would have thought it a few months ago!!!
It’s pretty exciting. I don’t know how the gallery sales will go, and that’s ok. Just trying something different is pretty darned exciting. And whatever the outcome, I’m having a lot of fun walking around, taking the pictures, and experimenting!
You know, I’m lucky to have found Prescott. I think that often. Sure, no cool wireless jobs for me, but it makes up for the lack of great job opportunities with so many other amazing features. A wonderful downtown, beautiful spots to hike in almost every direction, incredible views, the Granite Dells, and proximity to so many other amazing spots.
It’s at this moment readers ask themselves, “This guy has been in AZ for more than a year and he hasn’t seen the Grand Canyon, Page, or the Vermillion Cliffs? Hmmmm….He should get out more!”
I plan on visiting more places in the Southwest, and expanding my travels down the road. Hoping gas prices level out and find a resting spot. But even if they don’t I’ll be looking for a few fun big trips this year. The camera will come along on every trip of course!
Well, there’s the wrap on the invitation. Glad to have found this place and a new side hobby that is making people see the amazing sites in Northern Arizona. I’ll keep them coming, and you keep popping by the blog. That’s how this site works! ![]()

I can’t believe your blog. I haven’t been on it in a while. It looks great. I love the picture of the inside of the old truck. It reminds me of the movie Cars which is Austin’s favorite. Keep up the good work!
The new picture is absolutely amazing. Like heaven!
We are going to need a one of a kind photo signed by you sometime.
See, you are in big demand already! Way to go!
You’re going to have an awesome show!!!!!
Love reading your blog but have to say the digital photo’s you’ve featured of late are actually hard to look at. They are so over manipulated. This to me is the danger of digital photography. Sorry to sound negitive on my first post but your earlier more natural photo’s were much better in my opinion.
Welcome aboard Jack. No problem on the negative comment. In all honesty, with the exception of the truck, most are not “over manipulated” at all. Instead they are blended from 3 exposures. See, here’s the issue with a camera and lens. It can’t do what the eye does. Pupils change to take in different light levels. With the camera you only get one exposure. The HDR technique blends 3 exposures. Mostly I go with just the blending, no further manipulation. The truck photo the other day was an exception and purposeful to have a little fun.
Anyhow, I’ve gotten more positive feedback on the new technique (I still shoot standard too and they’ve been mixed in) than I ever have on any others. So, I’m continuing to play with HDR as 99.9% of the folks dig those shots. Plus at that point it’s beyond a photo and slightly artistic.
I believe Ansel Adams used gobs of filters, developing techniques, etc. And most stuff you see out there is manipulated, but folks don’t tell you.
What I’ve learned about photography recently is there isn’t a non-manipulated shot that hits most any media circuit, nor has there been in many decades. So, why not play with it a little?
Mary & Lois….Thanks!
Uh-oh Jack…time to buy a pair of sunglasses. eh?
I say just wait until you figure out how to do 3-D photos!! Watch out…
(wait…can you do that Rich?!?!)
The HDR photos are about the next best thing to actually being there in person…I am just excited to see what you come up with next.
HEY RICH
CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YA. I THINK ALL YOUR PICTURES ARE GGGGGGGREAT
