Wow, 2 days away from the blog.  I didn’t mean for that to happen, but it does happen.

Yesterday I had another meeting in Phoenix.  Left Prescott at 7 a.m. and I didn’t return until 9:30 p.m.  Was the meeting that long?  Absolutely not!

Instead the reason for the long day was simple.  Arizona has only one real way from Phoenix to Prescott, and that’s Route 17.  Unfortunately a truck turned over on 17 at 2:30 in the afternoon, and it was not cleared until 8:00 p.m.  That’s a long time to clear a wreck for sure.

If you remember, last year when I found Prescott I’d traveled north on 89.  We considered that option, but as it works out the road to 89 is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays right now due to construction (a specific section).  I’m not kidding.

So, during monsoonal downpours I sat in Black Canyon City along with a co-worker.  It was a hoot!  That’s sarcasm….thought I should point that out.

Ah, I did finally make it home last night.  A little starved as the folks running the meeting chose to provide pizza for lunch, no alternates.  Gotta bring lunches with me to these things……of course I was tempted, but didn’t want to make a scene getting super sick.  ;)

  1. Yeah, it’s always such a “scene” when someone drops dead from their food allergies at work functions…I just hate that. Plus? It’s totally rude…to just die like that…almost as rude as it is to serve only ONE thing for lunch and assume that everyone can eat that (which most people can’t digest…but we won’t talk about that, it tends to make people angry that they can’t digest dairy)

AND, if you made a grand exit, who would lead the work meeting this week? :)
