One of my favorite movies is Pixar’s “Cars.” Gotta tell you, the movie has a cute story that works for all ages.
As I noted yesterday, I took a ride along Route 66 to see Seligman, and get reminded of the movie that I enjoyed so much. I also got to see some “Cars” of my own. See, along the way it seems folks have hung on to the older shells and older cars.
In town there were many older cars that would have passed through as they traveled 66. Along our route we found older “classics” as well. We also found a few wrecks that you couldn’t pass up! Especially for an HDR photo!
I’ve been thinking now, Route 66 is a “must see”. It’s something I’d like to travel along with the Airstream. Of course, there’s that pesky cost of gasoline. Plus that pesky job thing!
If only gas prices were back at the level of the days when these pumps were in operation….. ;) Ah well, guess we can’t go back, just take a look back now and again!
If you get a chance, take a ride along 66 and take your own look back.

The vibrant colors on the gas pumps made them almost look new bringing back memories of the 50s. Have you considered bringing samples of your work and taking photos of vintage cars at auto rallies to expand your photography repertoire and hawk your services to the aficionados?
You are having too much fun!

Never really thought of that one Larry. Could be fun, eh?
Drop a note. Been wondering what you guys have been up to!
Hey Rich, did you notice the price on the old pumps? Today’s local newspaper reports a Hudson New Hampshire garage is pricing his gas by the half gallon as his 50 year old + pumps don’t go above $3.99 a gallon. To think that once upon a time $4.00/gallon was inconceiveable!
