While this episode includes more driving footage, I hope viewers will find it interesting. Most of today was spent unwinding from the recent cross country trip to New Mexico. Grocery shopping and an oil change were the big to-do’s today. But while I waited for my appointment at the local Nissan dealership I decided to take the opportunity to visit the Organ Mountains.
Today I drove to Aguirre Springs Campground. How did I learn about this out of the way spot? Simple. Last year I’d picked up, “Adventures on America’s Public Lands.” It’s a wonderful guide book from the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management. Many spots not listed anywhere else can be found in this book, including a few sites in the Organ Mountains.
Entering the area I noticed one sign that I’ll pass along to all visitors. The sign recomended not coming in with anything longer than a 23 foot trailer. After driving into the camping area, and seeing the sharp turns first hand, I completely agree with the sign!
I’m also looking forward to visiting Dripping Springs in the same area, and the White Sands National Monument. So be sure to check back for those podcasts. So far I’m enjoying the Las Cruces area. It has a good deal to offer.

After a long time away, a new episode has finally been posted. Nothing super exciting. Just the view from inside the truck today as I traveled through Texas on my way to Austin.
The new camera setup seems to be working well, so that’s a plus. Looking forward to getting some more interesting footage over the next few weeks as I try to locate the new “home base”. :) Maybe there will even be some interesting touring items peppered in.
Enjoy the episode. If nothing else, you get to virtually travel along.

I’ve been toying around with video editing the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much video to edit around here. Clip after clip of me in traffic. Somehow I think folks wouldn’t check in to see the Tampa traffic report every day….or would they? Hmmm.
Today’s podcast gives you a sneak peak into how future podcasts will be presented. I hope you enjoy them. I’ve never been a big video production guy, but I’m learning. That’s the fun with digital items folks, anybody can figure it out if you take a few minutes. The bigger part is knowing what you want to achieve, and having your questions ready as you start learning.
So, enjoy today’s podcast. And I hope you like the music. It’s by Bill Furner, and the tune is Acoustic Highway. You can learn more about Bill at MacJams.com, or at ITunes as well. I’ve gotten many of his tracks, and I’m really enjoying his music.
By the way, this might not properly download at ITunes. If it doesn’t, watch it here at http://www.hikenbike.net/wordpress
Making efforts today to get the ITunes downloads working again. Cross your fingers.
