Several weeks ago I’d commented on my initial ride into Prescott.  Sharp curves, interesting drops, etc. along route 89 from the south.  Well, as you continue out of Prescott and set your sites on Jerome, Cottonwood, & Sedona you’ll have another interesting ride.  Today’s podcast shows you a little of the ride.

For my 2 cents, I wouldn’t want to tow along 89A toward Jerome.  The road signs suggest that anything under 50 feet is ok.  Going through Jerome I’d have to say nothing over 25 feet!

Cute town, neat ride, and an enjoyable day.  But I’ll take the longer route just to avoid towing on 89A.  :)

Several days ago I took a hike with my neighbor Bob.  In excess of 100 photos that day touring a canyon.  And once again, today I took a walk up to Devil’s Bridge (you might have seen some shots from my last blog entry).  I decided to wrap the photos of both walks together, slap some nice music in for a good mood, and make a new podcast.  :)

If you’re curious about the music, go to Magnatune.com and search for “Heavy Mellow”.  Love all the podcast friendly musicians out there!  Thanks so much all.  By the way, if you like the music at sites like Magnatune, please be sure to support the artists (buy their albums…..).

Yesterday I took another ride along the Peavine Trail. If you like “Rails to Trails”, this is a great one. 4.5 miles one way. Also it connects to the Iron King Trail. You’re not riding this one for jumps, crazy single track, or speed. You’re riding it for wonderful scenery and a nice ride. :)

The first attempt at a bike cam setup didn’t go so well, but I thought I should still post it. Way too shakey, but it was worth the effort. While it might be a little jarring, the scenery is still fantastic. And it will give you an idea of what riding through the Granite Dells in Prescott, AZ is like.

Hope you enjoy the show, and don’t come away too shaken!  :)

This podcast episode might be a little shakey.  So, if you get motion sick, you might want to skip it.

My bicycle does not have a good mount setup for a camera yet.  Therefore, the ride along is just a touch bumpy……  :)

Right behind Point of Rocks campground is a wonderful Rail Trail.  Hikers, bikers, folks on horses all share this trail.  The views are stunning.  I’ll look forward to another ride in a few days.

This episode was created after arriving at Point of Rocks Campground in Prescott, AZ. Really nice spot! If you’re ever passing through the area, I think it’s worth a stop.

Hopefully this episode will post properly. I believe the issues with the podcasts playing on the site have been resolved. However, the ability to download with ITunes may have been broken now. If so, I’ll be working on that today as well, and posting when it is resolved.

What started out as a simple ride to see where the Pacific Crest Trail was in relation to my camp in Borrego Springs turned into a really long, really fun tour of the area. Quickly into the ride I found the PCT and took a look around. But the driving was so much fun (curves, curves, curves) that I continued on to Julian, CA. Cute little town. 20 degrees cooler than where I was camped.

So, this is another driving heavy podcast. But definitely a fun ride and great day. Big download though, a little over 40 Megs! Sorry about that. Had to reset the podcast too to see if it works.

Today’s episode wraps up some scenes from White Sands and Saguaro National Park. There have been many interesting sites since getting into NM & AZ, and a few of those moments are in this episode. Enjoy!

While this episode includes more driving footage, I hope viewers will find it interesting. Most of today was spent unwinding from the recent cross country trip to New Mexico. Grocery shopping and an oil change were the big to-do’s today. But while I waited for my appointment at the local Nissan dealership I decided to take the opportunity to visit the Organ Mountains.

Today I drove to Aguirre Springs Campground. How did I learn about this out of the way spot? Simple. Last year I’d picked up, “Adventures on America’s Public Lands.” It’s a wonderful guide book from the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management. Many spots not listed anywhere else can be found in this book, including a few sites in the Organ Mountains.

Entering the area I noticed one sign that I’ll pass along to all visitors. The sign recomended not coming in with anything longer than a 23 foot trailer. After driving into the camping area, and seeing the sharp turns first hand, I completely agree with the sign!

I’m also looking forward to visiting Dripping Springs in the same area, and the White Sands National Monument. So be sure to check back for those podcasts. So far I’m enjoying the Las Cruces area. It has a good deal to offer.

After a long time away, a new episode has finally been posted.  Nothing super exciting.  Just the view from inside the truck today as I traveled through Texas on my way to Austin.

The new camera setup seems to be working well, so that’s a plus.  Looking forward to getting some more interesting footage over the next few weeks as I try to locate the new “home base”.  :)  Maybe there will even be some interesting touring items peppered in.

Enjoy the episode.  If nothing else, you get to virtually travel along.

Today I took a run out to Fort Desoto Beach. A nice ride, a little kite flying, and a few pelicans.

The wind was pretty inconsistent.  Got the kite up, then it came drifting downward.  Ah well, it was still fun.
